2006-2008 PCO's:
* Appointed at April meeting May 01 Endorsements & Judicial Candidate Forum – Regular June Meeting CancelledEndorsements & Judicial Candidate Forum – Regular June Meeting Cancelled
The district has cancelled our general membership meeting in June and replaced it with a Judicial Candidate Forum on Sunday, June 8th at 12:30 in the afternoon. We created this forum to increase the quantity and the quality of information available to voters about judicial candidates. By offering an opportunity for voters to meet judicial candidates, people will be able to make more informed decisions during the primary elections. The tentative meeting location is the Green Lake Public Library: 7364 E. Green Lake Dr. N., Seattle, WA 98115. The Green Lake Branch has a meeting room that is wheelchair-accessible and has a maximum occupancy of 99 people. We may move the meeting in the event that we need a bigger space.
We plan on inviting voters from across King County. At the conclusion of the forum, we will hold our Primary Endorsements meeting. In addition to the judicial races, Congressman Jim McDermott, Governor Christine Gregoire, Lt. Governor Brad Owen, Auditor Brian Sonntag, Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler, and are seeking re-election. Democrats are challenging the current Republican incumbents of Secretary of State, Commissioner of Public Lands, and Attorney General. In addition, the Mike Murphy is retiring as Treasurer and Democratic State Representative Jim McIntire is seeking his position. The non-partisan office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, held by Terry Bergeson, is also subject to election. All candidates seeking our endorsement must fill out a candidate questionnaire. Endorsement rules will be posted on our website: www. 43rddems.org April 28 Candidate filing statement and four tips for running for national delegate

--Rob Dolin, Vice-Chair for Elections April 23 Information for delegates running to the 7th Congressional District CaucusCongratulations on your election as a delegate representing the 43rd Legislative District Democrats! The 43rd Legislative District is the most politically active legislative district in the state so it is truly an honor to have been selected by your peers in this process. As you look forward to the 7th Congressional Caucus on May 17, there is some information that you should know…
First, we want our district to shine on May 17th! So no matter who your presidential preference is, if you have any questions at all about the process, feel free to email the chair or any of the officers. Contact information is posted online at: http://www.43rddems.org/Officers.aspx. The executive board is here to help you!
Second, delegates for all of the presidential preferences have begun to lobby each other for votes. This is natural. Only the delegates elected by their legislative districts will have the power to vote for who goes on to the Democratic National Convention. With so many people interested and so few seats available, your vote is powerful. Expect to be contacted many times between now and May 17.
Third, we are hosting a “How to Run for Delegate” panel and training at the Capitol Hill Library (425 Harvard Ave. E. Seattle, WA 98102) on Sunday, April 27th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. The purpose of this training is to discuss lobbying strategies that you can use to strengthen your position as a candidate and to provide some tips for effective campaign communications. This training is open to everyone and will not be targeted towards any presidential preference. It should be especially helpful for first-time delegate candidates.
